SAN FRANCISCO – Santa Clara women's basketball dropped a 64-47 game at Bay Area rival San Francisco Saturday afternoon.

The Dons (11-12, 6-6 WCC) used the three ball, connecting on 11 from deep, the most allowed by the Broncos (7-16, 3-9 WCC) this season. San Francisco also shot 50-percent from the floor with Santa Clara shooting 33-percent.

Anna Seilund led four Dons in double-figures with 14 and added 10 assists for the double-double. Michaela Rakova also scored 14 and Shannon Powell scored 11 with Kalyn Simon adding 10.

San Francisco put the game away almost immediately, going in a 17-0 run over six minutes in the first quarter. The Dons knocked down three 3-pointers, including a pair from Seilund and the Broncos turned the ball over six times during the stretch.

A Kyla Martin 3-pointer ended the run and started a steak of nine in a row for Santa Clara that cut the deficit to 17-11 after a 3-pointer form Ashlyn Herlihy.

Martin led Santa Clara with 13 points and Herlihy and Charise Holloway both added nine. Herlihy and Morgan McGwire each pulled down a game-high eight boards.

The Dons pushed their lead to a game-high 28 with 8:09 to go in the fourth after scoring 11 in a row. Kalyn Pierce hit back-to-back triples and Simon capped the run with a jumper that made it 58-31.

Santa Clara responded with seven in a row over the next two minutes to make it 58-38.

NOTES

• Santa Clara is now 61-39 all-time against San Francisco.
• Taylor Berry made her 97th consecutive start.
• The Broncos were without Tamia Braggs who was out with a sickness. Braggs had come off the bench in each of the first 22 games of the season.
• The Santa Clara bench held an 18-11 advantage in the game.
