SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball finishes up its regular season with a pair of duals on Saturday. The Broncos face Saint Mary's (RV) at 3 p.m. and No. 6 Cal Poly at 5 p.m. at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex in San Luis Obispo, California.
Santa Clara (5-3, 3-2 WCC) had a four-dual winning streak snapped at No. 11 Stanford on Thursday. Gretchen Reinert, Michelle Shaffer, Alex Anthony, Julia Sangiacomo and Jordan Bennett have each won five matches on the year.
Saint Mary's (8-8, 5-2 WCC) has faced four straight ranked opponents and lost its last three matches entering Saturday. Prior to that, the Gaels had won six of seven. Morgan Kendrick/Jennifer "Boo" Laird have a team-leading nine match wins with a 4-2 record on court three.
Cal Poly (17-8) has played 10 straight duals against ranked opponents and won five of those duals. The team's top pairing of Macy Gordon/Emily Sonny is 18-6 on court one, including three consecutive wins.
