SAN MATEO, Calif. — Two Santa Clara beach volleyball student-athletes have been recognized as part of the 2021 All-West Coast Conference honors. Julia Sangiacomo was named Second Team All-WCC and Jordan Bennett was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

These honors are the first for Santa Clara beach since the conference's inaugural season in 2016. Bennett is also the first Bronco in program history named to the all-freshman team.

Sangiacomo paired up with Michelle Shaffer to form Santa Clara's most successful pair this season. They won seven matches while playing exclusively on court one and court two, including a 3-1 record at the No. 1 spot.

Bennett partnered with Alex Anthony on court three for every dual of the campaign. The pair finished the season with five match wins.

Sangiacomo and Bennett both put together four straight match wins to help the Broncos capture four consecutive duals from April 9-17; it marked the team's longest winning streak since 2016. Bennett/Anthony swept all four duals during that span.
