SARATOGA, Calif. — The Santa Clara University beach volleyball team made it a tri-sweep on Saturday, winning three matches in a single day, all by scores of 5-0. The Broncos swept Feather River College, Cabrillo College, and host West Valley College, all at the West Valley College Beach Volleyball Complex.
Julia Sangiacomo went 3-0 on the day at No. 1 pairs, winning with two different partners. She went 2-0 with Nicole Robison, as they beat the top pairs from Feather River College and Cabrillo College with two-set sweeps. She teamed with Hailey Benesz at the end of the day to sweep host West Valley College's top pair of Kiana manson and Flor Porras.
Alexie Epstein and Hayley Hahn dominated at the No. 5 spot, going 3-0 on the day with three consecutive sweeps. Only one of the six sets they played was decided by less than 10 points. They won their six sets by an average of 14 points, including holding opponents to three, five, six and nine points in a set.
The Broncos will host their first on-campus home match of 2023 on Wednesday when they welcome West Coast Conference foe Pacific to the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts.
