"We traveled to Lake Natoma this past weekend with the hope of testing a newly re-invigorated V8+ lineup. We have a very small team this year and have encountered numerous struggles each time we've headed into a regatta. Unfortunately, WIRAs was no exception! Despite what may appear to be a disappointing finish in that premier boat class, what these student-athletes accomplished in the face of such adversity speaks volumes about their character, determination, and relentless devotion to this team. I am immeasurably proud of their grit and resilience.

"The novice 4+ was composed of five first-year rowers. While this boat finished third and came home with a bronze medal, and this is an outstanding accomplishment in and of itself, I feel it is important to know the full story. The "novice" category requires the participants to be in their first year of collegiate competition. The individuals may have extensive experience prior to enrolling in college. In this Novice 4+ race, the top two finishing boats from University of Central Oklahoma and Saint Mary's College were entirely filled with very experienced rowers - though this is their first year competing collegiately. The Broncos were the top-finishing true novice boat. Three of the women took their first strokes in October, and the fourth walked on from rugby in late January.

"I am excited to see how things conclude for the year at our conference championship on May 13th."
