BOWLING GREEN, Kent. - Santa Clara sophomore women's golfer Borina Sutikto picked up her 10th career top-20 finish on Tuesday, closing her stay at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate with a two-day total of 9-over 77-76-72--225 to tie for 20th. The Broncos climbed four spots on the final day as a team, carding a collective 9-over 297 to finish in a tie for seventh at 47-over 911.
Sutikto saved her best round for last, vaulting 19 spots on Tuesday to secure the finish. She carded three birdies as part of her even-par final round.
Freshman Audrey Brust also tied for 20th at 9-over, her second-straight top-20 finish. Brust was 3-over 75 on Tuesday to bring her three-day total to 76-74-75--225.
Inara Sharma (82-77-74--233) and Claire Choi (79-78-76--233) each had their best individual rounds of the tournament on Tuesday, climbing 11 and seven spots, respectively to tie for 44th. Lauren Shew rounded out the Broncos lineup with a t-59th with a 77-79-81--237.
As a team, Santa Clara had the fourth-lowest round of the day out of the field of 13. Only champion-Sam Houston State (286), Kennesaw State (288) and Campbell (293) fared better on Tuesday.
Sam Houston State won the event with a 10-over 299-289-286--874 while Louisville's Carmen Griffiths (2-under 70-73-71--214) won the individual title as one of just two players in the field of 72 to finish under par.
The Broncos have concluded the fall portion of their 2022-23 schedule and will now turn their sights to the spring. Santa Clara will tee things back off Feb. 13-14 at the Black/Blue Invitational.
