Women's Golf Trio Earns WCC All-Academic Honors

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - A trio of Santa Clara women's golf student-athletes were among the group of 10 athletes that were named to the 2023 Women's Golf WCC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Santa Clara's three representatives tied San Francisco for the most in the league. 

The three honorees were Claire Choi, Lauren Shew and Borina Sutikto. Additionally, Inara Sharma earned 'Honorable Mention' honors.

Choi earned All-Academic honors for the third time of her Bronco Career. A graduate student from Honolulu, she recently put a stamp on her collegiate career by playing in all 11 events this season where she recorded a 75.39 stroke average while maintaining a 3.62 GPA. Choi leaves the program with the third-most career rounds at par or better (25) and holds the school record for career stroke average at 74.95. 

Shew holds the honor of holding the highest cumulative GPA on the team with a 3.80. She played in eight tournaments this season with a pair of top-20 finishes. 

Sutikto turned in yet another very impressive year on the course that saw the Fremont native lead the team in stroke average at 75.03. She had a perfect 4.00 GPA during the winter term and holds a cumulative 3.53 GPA.  

Sharma has posted a cumulative GPA of 3.77 and just wrapped up her junior season on the course where she played in nine total events.
