Women's Soccer Dominates No. 21 Portland on Senior Day

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's soccer went out and dominated No. 21 Portland in a 4-0 win as part of Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

From the opening whistle, it was the Broncos (9-6-1, 6-0) who were in control. They were constantly in the attacking third and finally broke through on a header from Karly Reeves off a corner from Colby Barnett in the 29th. Less than three and-a-half minutes later, Farrah Walters scored a beautiful goal, assisted by Isabel Dehakiz and Marisa Bubnis, to add on to the lead and just before halftime, Izzy D'Aquila scored her 17th of the year on Barnett's second assist of the day. Santa Clara wasn't done as Cianna Elmazaj put an exclamation point on the game with a goal in the 77th off a long ball from Alyssa Bourgeois.

The Pilots (9-2-4, 3-2 WCC) were on their heels and didn't get a shot off until the 70th minute. Their lone shot on target came in the 85th. It was just the second time this season they had given up more than two goals.
