D'Aquila Earns All-American Nod

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After an unbelievable senior season, Izzy D'Aquila of Santa Clara women's soccer was named Second Team All-America on Friday.

D'Aquila carried the Broncos on her shoulders most of the season, setting career-highs with 19 goals and 43 points. Those numbers were fifth and tied for eighth in a single season in program history. She also finished her career with 50 goals, just the seventh Bronco to reach the milestone. Her 116 career points are ninth all-time.

D'Aquila went on an unbelievable run this season, nabbing WCC Offensive Player of the Week three times in a row. She scored in six matches in a row to start conference play, including a four-goal game against San Francisco and a hat trick against Pacific. It was just the third time in Santa Clara history a player has scored in at least six consecutive matches. She is tied with Sofia Huerta (6, 2013) and trails only Mandy Clemens (9, 1999), and Brandi Chastain (15, 1990).

The honor is the 52nd for a Bronco in program history and the first for D'Aquila who was recently named First Team All-West Region for the second time. She was on the second team last season and as a freshman in 2019. She was the WCC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-WCC for the third year in a row.

This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
