Three Vollleyball Players Earn All-League Honors

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Three Santa Clara volleyball players earned All-West Coast Conference recognition.

Julia Sangiacomo was voted to the first team, Michelle Shaffer earned a spot on the second team, and Nive Tuileta was an all-freshman selection.

Sangiacomo, a junior who was All-WCC first team last year, ended the regular season ranked No. 4 in the conference in kills per set. She recorded her 1,000th career kill against Gonzaga and tallied seven double-doubles on the year.

A senior, Shaffer averaged a career-high 3.12 kills per set, which ranks ninth in the league. She was also second in the WCC in service aces per set (0.41).

Tuileta was the team's top setter, regsitering 9.62 assists per set, the fourth-best total in the conference. She also had 10 matches posting double-digit digs, including a career-high 18 vs. Saint Mary's (Oct. 23).
