The Santa Clara Athletic Department is dedicated to the personal growth of each student-athlete. The Academic Services staff fosters this development by supporting each student-athlete’s individual academic path. Academic Services staff works with coaches, administrators, and university staff to assist student-athletes with managing the responsibilities and demands of being both a student and an athlete. They instill values of honesty, integrity, and self-sufficiency through one-on-one advisement with student-athletes. The Santa Clara Academic Services staff promotes academic growth and strives to continue the tradition of academic excellence at the university Santa Clara’s Athletic Department and Academic Services continue to maintain high academic standards for its student-athletes. SCU student-athletes graduate at rates which make Santa Clara Athletics a leader within the Conference, the region, and among the nation. |

Advisement and Tutoring
The Academic Services staff offer advisement relating to specific degree requirements, NCAA academic eligibility, and collaborates with the Drahmann Advising Center to guide student-athletes through their academic career. Once student-athletes declare an academic major, the university provides each student with a faculty adviser. Student-athletes are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisor in addition to receiving advisement within Athletics.
Student-athletes who desire regular assistance in specific courses receive tutoring through the Drahmann Tutoring Center and the university’s writing Hub. Tutors are free of charge for all SCU undergraduates and are available for only lower division coursework.

The Academic Services staff works closely with university departments, particularly Disability Resources, Study Abroad, Multicultural Center, Campus Ministry, Ignatian Center, and Career Center, as well as SCU Sports Medicine, Compliance, and SAAC, to enhance the student-athlete experience.
