Misuraca Named to WCC All-Academic Team; Bronco Cross Leads Conference with 14 Selections

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — For the second season in a row, Santa Clara cross country is the West Coast Conference's top group in terms of all-academic recognition. Evan Misuraca was named to the WCC All-Academic Team as one of 14 Broncos to earn an accolade, announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Misuraca, a junior mechanical engineering major with a 3.83 GPA, scored for the Broncos twice in his five events this fall. The San Diego, California native finished fifth among teammates (seventh overall) with a 6-kilometer 18:27.60 at the Santa Clara vs. Saint Mary's dual and took fifth among teammates (29th overall) with a 10-kilometer 31:56.4 at the Chile Pepper Festival.

Santa Clara's 10 nods on the men's side and 14 overall are both four more than the next-highest team. The Broncos have garnered 30 conference all-academic selections over the last two seasons.

Andrew Melendez, Noah Westfall and Allison Martinez each earned an All-Academic Honorable Mention for the third year in a row to round out their careers with the maximum number of conference all-academic awards.

Aaron Brumbaugh, Will Burschinger, John O'Hagan, Jamie Ferris, Julia Green and Bevin McCullough earned their second-career honorable mention to make it nine Broncos on the current roster with multiple honors.

Ben Davidson, Xander Olivero, Christian Raslowsky and Jean-Baptiste Tooley were each picked as an honorable mention for the first time as part of this year's group.
