Women's Basketball Plays Marquette in Stockton in Thanksgiving Tournament

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Looking to get back in the win column, Santa Clara women's basketball travels to Stockton to take part in the Tiger Turkey Tipoff Thanksgiving Tournament. The Broncos will face Marquette Friday at 4 p.m. in the first game of the tournament.

Santa Clara dropped a pair of games last week. The Broncos fell at Cal and at San Jose State despite being in each game.

The Broncos and the Golden Eagles have never met.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (1-2) is shooting 38.6 percent from the floor and 28.0 percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos have been to the link 76 times and converted 58 times for a 76.3 percent mark.

They have also won the rebounding battle. Santa Clara has outrebounded its opponents 40.0-36.3 and is forcing 15.0 turnovers per game.

Taylor Berry is the fifth Bronco averaging double-figures at 11.0 ppg. She is adding 5.3 rpg and has picked up four steals.

THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Marquette (3-0) is coming off a 75-63 win over No. 18 Arizona State. All three of the Golden Eagle's wins have come at home. They are yet to play on the road or in a neutral environment.

They are 12th nationally with 88.7 ppg while surrendering just 63.7 per contest. The team is also fifth in the country with a50.7 percent mark from the floor despite shooting just 29.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Allazia Blockton and Erika Davenport are tied for the team lead with 18.3 ppg each. Davenport also leads the team with 10.3 rpg to average a double-double through the first three games of the year. Blockton is also leading the team with 5.3 apg and is chipping in 5.7 rpg.

Natisha Hiedeman leads the team with seven 3-pointers made and is scoring 13.3 ppg while leading the way with 2.7 steals per game. Amani Wilborn (12.7 ppg) and Danille King (10.0 ppg) round out the Golden Eagles double-digit scorers.
