SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Fourth-seeded Santa Clara women's basketball opens play at the West Coast Conference Tournament in Las Vegas with a quarterfinal's matchup against eighth-seeded LMU. Tip is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Broncos closed the regular season with a tough one possession loss to BYU.
SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 50-29 all-time against LMU with the first meeting coming in 1984-85. The two teams split the regular season series.

Santa Clara (13-10, 9-8 WCC) finished the regular season scoring 64.7 points per game on 40.9-percent shooting from the floor and 33.8-percent from downtown.
Lindsey VanAllen, a Second Team All-WCC selection, leads the team in scoring with 12.4 ppg while adding 4.0 rebounds per game. Ashlyn Herlihy, an honorable mention pick, scores 11.6 ppg with a team best 6.6 rpg. Merle Wiehl, also named to the second team, scores 10.7 ppg with 5.2 rpg and leads Santa Clara with 37 3-pointers made, a 52.1-percent mark from the field and a 43.5-percent mark from beyond the arc.
THE LIONS
LMU (7-18, 4-13 WCC) is scoring 60.8 ppg as a team while shooting 39.9-percent from the field and 32.2-percent from downtown.
Ariel Johnson leads the team in scoring with 12.8 ppg, assists with 2.7 pg, and steals with 1.9 pg. Chelsey Gipson has hit a team best 41 3-pointers while scoring 11.3 ppg and Khari Clark scores 9.6 ppg with a team leading 5.9 rpg.
