Women’s Tennis Picks Up Two Consolation Victories

STANFORD, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis completed the second day of competition at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships in Stanford, California. The Broncos could not complete the upsets in their round of 32 singles and doubles matches but did win two consolation matches.

In the consolation matches, sophomore Madison Clarke won, 7-6 (5), 6-4, over Susanne Boyden (Cal Poly). Freshman Caraline Patterson also got a victory, beating Valentina Sottile (Eastern Washington), 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (9).

Senior Nabila Farah fell to No. 8 seed Melissa Lord (Stanford) in the singles round of 32, 6-0, 6-2. Farah and Clarke competed against Lord and Caroline Doyle (Stanford) in the doubles round of 32 as well, falling, 8-5.
