Women’s Tennis Loses 5-2 to San Jose State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis won two singles matches but fell to San Jose State by a score of 5-2 at Degheri Tennis Center on Sunday

Santa Clara (2-6) lost the doubles point after the Spartans won on courts three and two. Senior Daniella Silva and sophomore Madison Clarke were tied 5-5 on court one but did not finish the match.

Clarke's 10-match winning streak was snapped on Sunday when she fell 6-3, 6-2 to Marie Klocker on court two. The Broncos did win two singles matches thanks to senior Nabila Farah and freshman Caitlyn Frankel. Farah defeated Marine Dans on court three, 7-5, 6-2. Frankel earned a 7-6, 6-4 win over Gaelle Rey on court five.

SCU returns to action at Degheri on Feb. 17 to face Illinois State at 4 p.m. PT.
