Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Nicholas Sampson
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the 12th member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Nicholas Sampson.  The outfielder currently attends James Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, joining another signee from the islands, Matt Erickson.

"I chose Santa Clara for numerous of reasons, one being the campus. The location and appearance is very welcoming and appears to offer security and a great atmosphere for learning. Though I am looking forward to playing baseball for the Broncos, I am also looking forward to earning a higher education and being able to meet the academic challenges the university has to offer," said Sampson.

Sampson was named the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I West Player of the Year his junior season after hitting .458 with a 1.229 OPS (On-base plus slugging percentage) for the Sabers.

"Nicholas is a great athlete and was the 2017 Player of the Year in Hawaii as an outfielder. He's a defensive player that can run and hit.  We're excited to have him on campus next year," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

Our next future Bronco, Luke Tillmann, will be announced later in the week.
