Ben Perez-Pringle is in his second year as assistant director of sports medicine at Santa Clara where he serves as the primary contact for men’s basketball.

He spent the the two years prior as a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach at Professional Physical Therapy and Professional Athletic Performance Center in Garden City, New York.

Perez-Pringle also worked for the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA in two different stints. He held a hybrid position as the athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach for their NBA Developmental League affiliate, Idaho Stampede. He also assisted Portland’s sports medicine and sports performance staffs in training camp and the postseason for the 2013-14 season.

He also served as a certified athletic training intern with Portland from 2007-09, assisting with sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and equipment management.

Additional experience includes serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of San Francisco from 2011-12 and athletic trainer and strength coach with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League from 2009-11.

Perez-Pringle received a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Northeastern University in 2007 and his Master of Science in kinesiology in 2014 from San Francisco State University.  He also has maintained his certification via the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a certified strength and conditioning coach since 2007.

Perez-Pringle was raised in Salem, Massachusetts, but his career has taken him to five additional states, including New York, Maine, Idaho and Oregon.  He now resides in the Bay Area with his wife.
