Complete Release

Leading the country in threes made per game (3.71) and threes made (140), Bronco sophomore Kevin Foster was named to the 2010-2011 National All-Jesuit Men's Basketball Team, as announced Friday by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight. He is the only player from the WCC to be named to the 10-man national team.

Named to the NABC All-District 9 first team and the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major All-America Team, Foster was honored as the MVP in the CollegeInsider.com Post-season Tournament after leading the Broncos to the title.  He was selected to the All-WCC first team and chosen as the WCC most valuable player by CollegeInsider.com.  Foster scored 20.2 points per game, ranking among the top 25 scorers in the nation.  He set a school record with 766 points in the season after reaching double figures in 36 of 38 games, with 16 20+ games and four games over 30. He also led team in assists (3.7) and steals (1.6). He was honored as National Jesuit Player of the Week once (January 17-23) and made the Jesuit Honor Roll five times.

A pair of players from Georgetown University, which spent a good part of the season among the top teams in the country, and a plethora of guards, highlight the list.  Hoyas Austin Freeman (Sr., G, 6-3) and Chris Wright (Sr., G, 6-1) are joined by three players who earned All-America honors on three levels: Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Tu Holloway (Xavier, Jr., G, 6-0) in Division I, Landmark Conference Player of the Year Zach Ashworth (Scranton, Sr., G, 6-2) in Division III, and SSAC Divisional Player of the Year Ryan Brock (Loyola New Orleans, Sr., G, 6-3) in NAIA. They also represent five of the nine guards on the All-Jesuit squad.

The six aforementioned players are joined Reggie Jackson (Boston College, Jr., G, 6-3); Darius Johnson-Odom (Marquette, Jr., G, 6-2); Doug McDermott (Fr., F, 6-6) who led Creighton to the CBI Postseason championship game; and Derek Needham (Fairfield, So., G, 5-11). Eight of the 10 players earned first-team all-conference honors. Four of the eight players who received honorable-mention status also received first-team all-conference accolades.

The All-Jesuit Team represents student-athletes from the 28 Jesuit colleges spread across the United States that play basketball on all three levels of the NCAA and also in the NAIA. They share the mission of Jesuit education, founded nearly 500 years ago under the principles of St. Ignatius Loyola to educate young people to become men and women dedicated to service and compassionate leadership. Students at Jesuit colleges have long excelled in the classroom and in the community, but they also have played a major role in collegiate basketball in the last 100 years.
