SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Brian Jones scored 22 points and Kyle Bailey added 17 as Santa Clara defeated San Francisco 89-82 in a WCC contest on Saturday night.

Steve Ross added 13 points and Jamie Holmes had 11 as the Broncos (3-1, 11-8) won their third straight.

Darrell Tucker scored 21 points to lead the Dons (0-4, 7-12), who lost their fourth straight. James Lee scored 15 points, making 1-of-5 from the field and 13-of-14 from the foul line. Ali Thomas added 14, and Tayo Akinsete had 13.

Santa Clara led by as many as 19 in the second half before the Dons made a run in the final six minutes.

San Francisco, which hasn't beaten a Division I team since Dec. 9, made just four of its first 18 shots in the second half, and went scoreless for over five minutes at one point.

The Dons rallied without getting much production from Tucker, who scored 17 of his points in the first half, but didn't score again until two minutes were left in the game. That's when he scored two quick baskets to bring the Dons within five with 1:18 remaining.

The Broncos didn't score a field goal in the final five minutes, but were 12-of-16 from the foul line.

Santa Clara survived Tucker's first-half explosion to take a 48-35 halftime lead.
