SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - John Cox scored a career-high 30 points to lead San Francisco to a 78-65 victory over Santa Clara on Friday night.

Darrell Tucker contributed 12 points, raising his career total to 1,701 and inching him closer to third place on the school's all-time scoring list. Shamell Stallworth added 11 points for San Francisco (12-12, 7-4 West Coast Conference).

Bakari Altheimer scored 18 points to lead Santa Clara (12-12, 3-8).

San Francisco led 40-20 at the half, and went on a 12-4 run after intermission to go up 52-24 three minutes into the second half.

J.R. Patrick's 3-pointer brought Santa Clara to within 74-60 with 2:47 remaining, but the Broncos could get no closer.

San Francisco took an early lead and went ahead 12-4 on Stallworth's 3-pointer. The Dons built the lead to 17 with 4:44 remaining in the half.

Santa Clara attempted just 24 shots, and only three from behind the three-point line.
