Final Stats

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Junior transfer Doron Perkins scored a career-high 21 points, helping Santa Clara defeat Pacific 72-61 on Saturday night.

Kyle Bailey, one of the Broncos' leading scorers, left the game with 4:40 remaining in the first half with an apparent right ankle injury. The junior guard, a two-time all-conference selection, missed all but five games last year with back and left foot injuries.

Bailey, who made four of six 3-point shots, finished with 12 points.

Brandon Rohe added 10 points for Santa Clara (6-2), which won its sixth straight. That's the longest winning streak since the 1994-95 team, led by current NBA star Steve Nash, won nine in a row.

Guillaume Yango scored 17 points, one off his career high, for the Tigers (3-4), who lost their second straight. Miah Davis and Christian Maraker each added 15 points in a series that dates to 1904.

Santa Clara made 13 3-pointers, matching the second-most in school history. The 29 tries from long range matched the sixth most attempts.

Pacific crept to within 53-50 with 11:25 remaining when Davis made a layup, but the Broncos responded with an 11-2 run to open a 64-52 edge.

Santa Clara made nine of its first 14 shots, including 7-of-9 from 3-point range, to open an early 27-18 lead.

The Broncos, who went 3-of-14 the rest of the half, still had a nine-point edge before Pacific went on a 10-5 run over the final 4:40 of the first half to close within 40-36 at halftime. The Tigers shot better than 59 percent for the half.
