Santa Clara Defeats Wolf Pack 73-65

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Brian Jones scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half to rally Santa Clara past Nevada 73-65 on Saturday night to stop a three-game losing streak.

Jamie Holmes added 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Broncos (5-6), who won for the first time in their new campus facility.

Terrence Green and Corey Jackson each scored 12 points for Nevada (7-3), which has not won at Santa Clara since Dec. 15, 1980.

The Wolf Pack, off to their best start in 19 years, fell to 3-15 on the road under second-year coach Trent Johnson. They had won three of their previous four overall.

Donny Guerinoni hit a jumper at the buzzer to give the Wolf Pack a 37-35 lead at halftime.

The Wolf Pack led by as many as eight points in the second half, but the Broncos rallied and Jones converted on a three-point play with 7:28 remaining to play to tie the game at 59.
