JUNIOR (2015): Appeared in 10 games ... Contributed to a defense that posted a goals against average of 1.13 over 20 games, the second-best mark in the West Coast Conference ... Steurer and his teammates recorded six shutouts on the year, also the No. 2 mark in the league.

SOPHOMORE (2014): Played in all 19 games for the Broncos … was a starter in 10 matches … scored two goals … had one game winning goal … attempted one shot in 1-1 tie with LMU … tallied one goal in 4-1 victory over Pacific … scored one goal in 1-1 tie against USF … recorded one shot against No. 15 Cal.

FRESHMAN (2013): In his first season for the Broncos, Steurer played in 16 matches for the Broncos, starting in 10 ... found his starting roll at outside back for the Broncos, helping the team to six shutouts … attempted a shot at San Diego (Oct. 4).

HIGH SCHOOL: Varsity starter as a junior on the preseason ESPN Rise #9 ranked boys high school team in the country ... scored 4 goals during season ... skipped by senior year of soccer at St. Louis University High to play for the Academy

CLUB: Junior year-St. Louis Scott Gallagher Academy player ... 18-6-4 USSDA Frontier Division Champs, USSDA National Finalist ... member of backline allowing least amount of goals per game in the Academy at 0.64 goals per game ... sophomore year- captain of St. Louis Scott Gallagher Elite ... freshman year- Nike Manchester United Premier Cup 2010 participant.

PERSONAL: Son of John and Maureen ... has four siblings, John, Sam, Shannon and Will ... brother Sam is a soccer player at Ohio State University ... KEEN sports volunteer ... SPENSA volunteer ... Special Olympics volunteer ... Academic First Honors all four years of high school ... outside of soccer he enjoys weight lifting, boating and basketball ... Studying in the College of Arts and Sciences.

WHY I CHOSE SANTA CLARA: I chose Santa Clara for many reasons. First, the men’s soccer team is continuously successful year after year. My club soccer coach is very good friends with Coach Yamamoto, and always speaks very highly of him and the rest of the coaching squad. I look forward to joining the team and hopefully winning the WCC. I also wanted to attend a challenging Jesuit college known for its academics like Santa Clara. I will probably enroll in SCU’s college of business, which is one of the top programs in the country. Lastly, I have many aunts and cousins who live about an hour away from Santa Clara. I love the area of the campus and my cousins highly recommend the school and will hopefully be able to watch me play for the Broncos soon.
