Mike Arzabal returns to the Santa Clara coaching staff for his third season on the Mission Campus in 2003. Arzabal adds another coach with a solid winning background to an already stellar staff.

For 10 years prior to joining the Bronco coaching staff, Arzabal had been coaching at Palo Alto High School, serving as varsity head coach over the last six seasons. During that time span Arzabal has directed Palo Alto to three De Anza League titles, five CIF/CCS appearances, three CCS appearances, and two CCS championships. Among his many accolades is an impressive 148-39-33 record and a CIF/CCS Coach of the Year award in 2000.

A 1995 Arts & Design graduate of San Jose State, Arzabal played four years for the Spartans beginning in 1991. Arzabal then moved on to play for the USISL's Silicon Valley Firebirds in 1994.

During the 1990's Arzabal utilized his skills in many different capacities, most notably working at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 2000 games in Australia. Arzabal also assisted with the operations of the World Cup USA in 1994 at the Stanford University venue. He also worked in the Stanford Athletic department for 2 1/2 years.

He is currently the head coach of the MVLA Earthquakes 11 year-old boys club team. The 31 year-old is single and resides in Palo Alto, Calif.
