AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2013-2014: SINGLES:  Posted a 16-7 record overall including seven-straight dual match wins … collected a 14-6 record in dual match play … named to WCC Honorable Mention team for regular season performance … ended season with 6-3, 6-3 victory over San Diego’s Filip Vittek in WCC Championships semifinals on April 25 … cruised 6-2, 6-3 over San Francisco’s James Tallman in quarterfinal matchup at the WCC Championships … overcame Daan Maasland of Oregon 6-4, 6-4 on April 9 to extend winning streak to three matches … regrouped to take victory over BYU’s Matt Pearce 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(4) on April 5 … overwhelmed Sam Wexman of Willamette University 6-0, 6-2 on March 28 … downed New Mexico State’s Paul Denele 6-0, 6-1 on March 16 … defeated Jack Schoebel of Gonzaga on March 2 by a score of 6-2, 6-3 … battled for a 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 win over No. 69 New Mexico's Rodolfo Jauregui on February 23 ... 6-2, 6-3 victory over Freddy Gelbrich from No. 64 San Diego State on February 20 ... knocked off Fresno State's Eric Komati 6-5, 6-1 on February 16 ... defeated Kyle Richter from UC Santa Cruz and Sonoma State's Phillip Holbrook in a doubleader sweep on February 1 ... nailed down the win over Jannis Koeke from No. 64 Georgia State with a 6-4 first set and dominating 6-0 second on January 26 ... reached the quarterfinals of the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis by defeating Jamin Ball of Stanford 6-1, 2-1 (retired) and Niranjan Ram of Sacramento State 6-4, 6-2 in early October. DOUBLES: Posted a 5-5 record overall, including dual matches, with partner Mikheil Khmiadashvili … tandem played at the No. 2 doubles position … tallied a three-match winning streak during the end of the season … knocked off Saint Mary’s tandem of Samuel Bloore and Wil Martin 8-2 in opening round of WCC Championships on April 23 … edged out Pacific’s Denis Stolyarov and Sem Verbeek 8-7 on Senior Day … defeated Saint Mary’s pairing of Samuel Bloore and Wil Martin 8-5 on April 18 … overcame pairing from No. 39 Oregon, Daan Maasland and Joey Swaysland, 8-6 to clinch the doubles point on April 9 … routed Willamette University pairing of Sam Wexman and Blake Brash 8-0 on March 28 … began playing with Khmiadashvili in late March … posted a 9-5 overall record with Sam Bertram and 7-4 record in dual matches ... tandem played at the No. 2 doubles position … cruised 8-3 over San Francisco’s Germain Bahri and Christian Brockstedt on March 7 … downed Gonzaga’s Vladimir Mijatovic and Joey Brandt 8-5 on March 2 … defeated Hayden Sabatka and Andrew Van der Vyver from No. 69 New Mexico 8-5 on February 23 ... triumphed 6-3 over Fresno State's Alexandros Georgios Vakouftsis and John Darmstaedter on February 16  ...  they clinched the doubles point over No. 64 Georgia State tandem of Sofiane Chevallier and Robert Schulze with a 9-7 tiebreaker on January 26 ... semifinalist at the UC Davis Invitational while paired with Sam Bertram; defeated teams from Cal and Fresno State to reach the semifinals.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2012-13: SINGLES: Racked up a 14-2 record in his first season on the Mission Campus … was extraordinarily dependable during the season when he played locking down the No. 3 and 4 positions … bested then-No. 55 Tulane in a tough match, ultimately prevailing 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 … topped No. 70 Purdue 6-4, 7-6 … did not lose a match from Jan. 26 through Mar. 1 racking up seven straight wins … during the streak, he picked up strong wins against then-No. 50 BYU (7-6, 6-4) and then-No. 38 Boise State (6-2, 6-4) … DOUBLES: Combined with several partners in the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions … played with Tomasz Soltyka in a 9-8 win over Furman in the No. 2 position helping the team to a 4-3 win … teamed with Tom Pham to take down BYU’s No. 2 doubles pair, 8-6 … defeated No. 38 Boise State’s No. 3 doubles team, 8-7, with Eugene Muchynski.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was ranked No. 1 in Europe … participated in the European Championship … reached No. 61 in the International Tennis Federation (junior) rankings and 998 in ATP.

PERSONAL: From Sochi, Russia ... graduated from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in Sochi in 2012 ... son of Aram and Susana Khacharyan ... has an older sister, Diana Khacharyan … interests include soccer and computers. He will be studying in the School of Arts and Sciences. 

Why he chose Santa Clara?: "I chose Santa Clara because it has a very strong tennis team, a high level of education, perfect weather and because it’s in California."
