A Family Affair: Two Younger Siblings Sign to The Men’s Water Polo Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- Through the years, the Santa Clara water polo program has coached numerous siblings on both the men's and women's side.

Ford Eldredge who signed to the men's side is the younger brother of Annie, senior driver for the women's team.

Annie will be graduating this spring, but is thrilled for her brother.

"I am so excited for Ford to be apart of the SCU water polo program," said Annie. "It was hard for me to not be bias when he was looking at schools because I love it here and knew it would be a good fit for him too. I am a proud big sister!"

Eldredge is a a right handed driver on the 1-2 side from Bishops High School in La Jolla.

Patrick Kirk, junior driver for the men's team, will also be joined by his younger brother, Dominick Kirk.

"I think he will be a great addition to the program, and it will be great to spend my final season with my brother on the team," said Patrick Kirk.

Dominick Kirk is a utility player from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose.

"I'm excited to coach them," said Wilbur. "I think it is a cool opportunity for them to play with each other."

Wilbur coached graduating senior Vinny Sicat on the men's side during the fall and is currently coaching sophomore Gabby Sicat on the women's.

Some recent sibling members of the men's and women's team include Blair Akerland '17 and Marcus Akerland '12,  Dane Estrella '19 and Sydni Estrella '16, Casidhe McClone '15 and Graham McClone '17, Jimmy Moore, Charlie Moore '08, Peter Moore '05 and Mark Oda '05 and Luke Oda '07.
