Jenna Green brings an abundance of elite-level coaching and playing experience to Santa Clara University’s Mission Campus. She officially joined the SCU women’s basketball staff in August of 2010 as the assistant director of basketball development.

A San Jose native, Green has returned to the Bay Area after playing professional basketball overseas, spending the 2009 season in Bembibre, Spain with C.B. Bembibre.

A 2008 graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara, Green is one of the most accomplished post players Gauchos history. In 2007 she was named the team’s ‘Most Valuable Player,’ leading UCSB in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots and field goal percentage. She was a three-time All-Big West Conference First Team honoree and left the school ranking seventh all-time in points scored.

Prior to playing in Spain, Green worked as the head girl’s basketball coach at Providence Hall High School in Santa Barbara, leading her team to an undefeated summer season.

Green’s additional coaching experience includes working as an assistant coach for the Page Youth Center’s girls’ AAU team in 2007 and coaching at UCSB’s basketball summer camps from 2003 to 2008, where she specialized in the training and development of post players.

A Sociology and Black Studies major at UCSB, Green demonstrated the strong commitment to academics that is also expected of the student-athletes here at Santa Clara.  She was the Big West Conference’s Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2006 and a two-time Division 1-AAA Academic All American while serving as the women’s basketball team’s academic captain’ from 2005-09.  From 2007-08 Green also served as an academic tutor. 

She is currently working on obtaining a Masters Degree in Education from UCSB.
