SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball is off to the ShareSLO Mustang Classic hosted by Cal Poly beginning Friday. The Broncos will take on Notre Dame Friday at 12:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. and the Mustangs Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.

Santa Clara (8-16) is hitting .285 as a team with 30 double, two triples, and three home runs and has scored 102 runs on the year.

Ashley Trierweiler leads the team with a .409 batting average and eight stolen bases in as many attempts. She has smacked five doubles to go with nine RBIs and 20 runs scored. Sammy Needham is hitting .394 with a team best .468 on-base percentage and has seven doubles, 15 runs scored, and 14 RBIs. Eleni Spirakis leads the team with 22 runs scored to go with a .371 batting average. Emma Bickford has a team high 21 RBIs and eight doubles while scoring 13 runs and hitting .304.

Hannah Edwards leads Santa Clara in ERA (3.31), wins (3), and innings pitched (48 2/3) while appearing in 11 games and making six starts with two complete games and a shutout. Lauren Schiek has appeared in a team high 15 games and made five starts while tossing 34 1/3 innings. In 12 games, eight starts, Lauren Anderson has thrown 27 2/3 innings with one complete game.
