Beach Volleyball

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2013: Played 86 sets with 29 assists, 18 service aces, 169 digs and averaged 1.97 dpg … had 13 aces, 160 digs and averaged 2.39 dpg in WCC play … had four digs vs. Kansas State (Sept. 12) … picked up eight digs at LMU (Sept. 21) … had four assists, four sa and 12 digs vs. Portland (Oct. 3) … vs. Gonzaga (Oct. 5) had four assists and 18 digs … had six digs at San Diego (Oct. 12) … collected 18 digs at BYU (Oct. 10) … vs. Pacific (Oct. 17) had a season-high five assists and 16 digs … had 11 digs and three assists vs. Saint Mary’s (Oct. 19) … at San Francisco (Oct. 25) had 12 digs … picked up six digs at Gonzaga (Oct. 31) … at Portland (Nov. 2) had nine digs … collected a season-high 19 digs vs. San Diego (Nov. 7) … picked up 15 digs and four assists vs. BYU (Nov. 9).

HIGH SCHOOL: Played volleyball for four years at St. Ignatius College Preparatory (San Francisco) ...  team finished in second place in 2011 in the CIF Central Coach Section Division III and were the 2009 Carmichael Invitational Champions (JV) ... sophomore year she was awarded the JV Coaches' Award for leadership ... a California Scholarship Federation lifetime member ... received National Charity League Award for six years of community service in San Mateo County.

CLUB VOLLEYBALL: Played club volleyball for coaches Jennifer Agresti and Chloe Goldman.  Team finished in 1st place in Northern California Power League years 16, 17, 18 and qualified for Junior Nationals Tournament-Open Division years 16, 17, 18 ... won bronze medal in Open division of Junior Nationals in 17’s year ... finished in seventh place in Open division of Junior Nationals in 18’s year.  Played for club "Payes Performance" in San Carlos, CA for 14, 15, 16, 17 years and for "Encore" in Redwood City, CA in 18’s year.

PERSONAL: Parents are Kent and Jennifer Shepherd ... Dad received degrees from Northwestern and UCLA, and mom from Willamette University ... older sister Rosie attends Notre Dame and older brother Jack is at Marquette ... Mom swam in college ... cousin Danielle Shepherd plays volleyball as DS/Libero at Penn and was Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year in both 2012 and '13 ... cousin Tori Shepherd plays volleyball as DS/Libero at Yale ... cousin Audrey Carson plays rugby at Harvard ... cousin Lindsey Jenkins-Stark played water polo for UC San Diego ... cousin Sandra Shepherd played soccer at Amherst College ... cousin Justin Shepherd played baseball at Lafayette ... cousin Nick Shepherd played football at Claremont-McKenna ... hobbies include performing arts, scrapbooking, watching the San Francisco Giants, listening to music, spending time with family, friends and dog Kimora ... studying in the College of Arts and Sciences.
