LAS CRUCES, NM - Scott Travers continues to fire low round for Santa Clara University's men's golf team, standing in a tie for eighth place overall after two rounds of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate hosted by the University of New Mexico.
Travers, a redshirt junior from Trabuco Canyon, currently ranks among the nation's best players according to the latest individual rankings by Golf Week. Sophomore teammate Cory Mehl shot rounds of 69 and 71 to enter Tuesday's final round in the Top 20.
The tournament which is led by No. 17 UNLV and the Rebel's Derek Ernst - who holds a three-shot lead over Travers.
