SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's basketball head coach Michelle Bento-Jackson announced Wednesday the completion of her 2007 recruiting class with the signing of Kelli Parker (Lemoore, Calif.) to a National Letter of Intent. Parker joins Rhianna Faithfull, Nicole Gall, Becky Goll, and Kathy Willinsky as the newest Broncos to join the women's basketball program.
Parker, a 5-10 combo guard out of Lemoore High School, has served as the team captain of the varsity squad since her sophomore season in 2004-05. She was named the team's offensive player of the year that season, as well as being named to the All-West Yosemite League First Team.
Parker plays club basketball for the King County Comets, where she helped lead the team to consecutive Central California Section AAU titles on 2002 and `03.
"Kelli is a versatile player in that she can play a number of different positions for us," said Bento-Jackson. "She is an athletic, skilled player who feels very comfortable with the ball in her hands. Kelli is an unselfish player and does a great job of not only being an offensive threat, but also in making the players around her better."
