Head Coach Michelle Bento-Jackson
On the post players' contribution to the win:
"Our play underneath was huge for us, and Jen and Kasey did a great job on the boards, but I will say that all of our post players contributed in a lot of different ways. We knew we had to come in here and control the defensive boards, and we did a good job of that."
On the performance of the forwards:
"It was nice to see our forwards step up, and that's what we need. In order for us to have the success that we'd like to have, we need to have balance with our inside and outside game. As much as we're blessed with very good shooters, opponents scout us, so the more contribution that we can get from our inside players, it will just open up more opportunities for us."
On the play of Jen Gottschalk:
"Jen is just a scrappy, rugged player and she has a very good feel for the game. She's always full of energy and has been a tremendous addition to our program this year."
Forward Jen Gottschalk:
On the win:
"This win was what we needed. It was a road win, and I'm really glad that we played well. We kicked it in and out well, and that's what we need to do."
On the performance of the post players:
"Those were some big, strong girls out there, and the coaches prepared us well with a lot of rebounding drills yesterday. We knew that we needed to rebound well to win."
On scoring 17 points underneath:
"Boise State played good defense on our guards, so I knew that I had to contribute more than I normally do."
Forward Kasey Monteith:
On playing in front of family and friends in her hometown:
"It was amazing. The girls all came out hard and sharp and we all wanted this win. We worked really hard together for this win and it felt great."
On the rebounding efforts of the post players:
"That's a focus for us in every game, but tonight we knew that their forwards are true post players. We knew that along with taking care of the ball, rebounding was going to be the key to winning this game."
