AS A SENIOR IN 2006: Started at forward in four of the 15 matches in which she appeared ... scored a goal and added an assist ... recorded an assist on Oct. 29 against San Francisco ... scored her first goal of the season in 3-0 win over Harvard on Sept. 1.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2005: Appeared in 22 games, starting six ... notched three goals and three assists on the season ... assisted on both goals in season-opening 2-0 victory over Arizona State on Aug. 26 ... netted a pair of goals in 5-0 win vs. San Francisco on Oct. 16 ... netted a goal in first-round victory over Fresno State on Nov. 11.  

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2004: Named Most Improved Player by teammates... saw action in 13 contests... made season debut against Rhode Island... also saw action against Yale at forward... posted three shots at Saint Mary's... assisted on the team's third goal against San Jose State with her corner kick... added a shot against Stanford in the NCAA Second Round... action was limited due to a back injury.  

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2003: Saw action in eight contests, making collegiate debut at San Jose State... earned an assist in the Broncos' fifth goal against Georgia.  

OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM EXPERIENCE: A member of the South Texas Olympic Development team... a Region III pool player for three years.  

CLUB TEAM/HIGH SCHOOL: Played under coach Derek Leader for the IMG Soccer Academy... named the squad's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2003... led team to the 2001 and '03 State Cup Championships... team also won the 2001 Raleigh Shootout... maintained a 4.0 GPA and was on the Dean's List... was a representative in the student government... lived with a host family in Bradenton, Fla., while attending the Academy.

PERSONAL: Full name is Elyse Rebecca Shelger... born in San Diego, Calif... parents are Jim and Marti Shelger, who live in Houston... has one brother, Reed, who wrestled at UC Davis... majoring in communication... participated in a regional tournament in Alabama for the South Texas Women's State team during 2005 summer... also played for Bradenton Athletics in the PDL/W League and was a camp coach at IMG.
