SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The 13th-ranked Santa Clara University women's volleyball team swept the University of San Francisco for the second time this season, handing the Dons losses by scores of 30-25, 30-23 and 30-19 Saturday night at War Memorial Gym. The win moves the Broncos' record to 19-8 overall and 10-2 in West Coast Conference play while dropping USF to 22-7 overall and 6-7 in league action.

With the win the Broncos increase their winning streak over San Francisco to 29 straight and upping their overall record against the Dons to 48-4. The last time that San Francisco defeated Santa Clara was on November 9, 1989 on the SCU campus.

All-American Becky Potter and fellow senior Kelli Sousa were stellar as usual for the Broncos but it was Toni Muratore who turned in her best performance of the season. She tallied 19 kills with only four errors for a .484 hitting percentage on the night.

Potter notched 21 kills while hitting at a .500 clip with 13 digs and six total blocks while Sousa registered 56 assists and 10 digs on the night. Her setting led the Broncos to a .355 hitting percentage on the night while the SCU defense limited the Dons to a .133 percentage, forcing 25 errors on 128 attacks.

Libero Kristen Luxton had another good night defensively, registering 10 digs one night after setting a career-high with 25 in the Broncos' 3-2 win at Saint Mary's.

Brittanie Budinger led the way for San Francisco with her 17 kills while Caroline Skacel was the only USF player in double-digit digs with 10.

The Broncos out-dug the Dons by 13 and registered eight more total team blocks on the night.

Santa Clara concludes WCC play next weekend at home, taking on 4th-ranked Pepperdine Friday night and 17th-ranked Loyola Marymount Saturday evening. Both matches are slated to begin at 7 p.m. The Broncos will recognize their three outgoing seniors prior to the first serve Saturday night against LMU.
