ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE: Is in her first year with the SCU rowing team as a freshman in 2014-15 ... competed in rowing, figure skating and soccer at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. ... varsity 8 boat finished in first place at the Midwest Championships and in fourth place at the petite final at the National Championships in 2014 … finished in 13th place at Head of the Charles in 2013 … junior varsity boat finished in first place at the Midwest Championships and National Championships in 2013 … freshman A boat finished in first place at the Midwest Championships and second place at the National Championships in 2011.

Why I Chose Santa Clara: Santa Clara has been on my college radar for as long I can remember. Together, my parents have five degrees from Loyola University of Chicago, and my grandparents have an additional four degrees from there as well. They have always touted the holistic benefits of Jesuit education. We also have family friends who are very active in the Santa Clara community, and have long encouraged me to apply.

I was further drawn to Santa Clara because of the quality of its rowing program. I have spent eight seasons as a coxswain on my high school crew team, and I am looking forward to pursuing crew at the college level. Additionally, I am interested in studying sports psychology, so I cross-referenced schools that offered crew and psychology. Finally, I toured the campus and fell in love with the atmosphere and sense of community — I felt very much at home there.
