AS A JUNIOR IN 1999-2000: Clinched SCU's first-ever victory over a nationally-ranked team by defeated Andrew Styperek and the 24th-ranked Harvard... won 16 singles matches last year, finishing with 10 losses... won nine of his last 10 singles outings... also beat Pacific's Tobias Abrahamson in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4... had best win of the season in the finals of the WCC Tournament, topping Pepperdine's Chase Exxon... went 7-9 in doubles with Eric bachelor at the No. 2 spot... a chronic sore shoulder limited playing time.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 1998-99: Finished with a 9-15 singles record and a 16-9 mark as part of the No. 2 doubles squad... found his most singles success in the No. 3 hole, posting a 6-3 record... had a straight-set victory over San Diego's Stephen Taylor (6-3, 6-3)... enjoyed a 5-2 run from Feb. 17-Mar. 4... was 9-10 after a win on Apr. 7, but lost his last five singles matches of the season... earned the nod in the No. 2 position in a WCC Championship match against San Diego, taking Mattias Tangeford to three sets before falling 2-6, 6-4, 6-4... found success in doubles, teaming with Eric Bachelor to go 1-1 as the top squad and 14-6 out of the two slot... after recording a pair of five-match win streaks earlier in the season, the Bachelor-Cox duo was bumped to the top spot for the final two matches of the WCC Championships... lost 6-8 to San Diego but rebounded with a 9-7 win defeat of Portland.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 1997-98: Tied a school record for most singles victories in a season with 20... finished the season with a 20-10 (.667) record... posted a 15-7 (.682) record in dual matches from the No. 4 position... teamed with Lars Nelson to form Santa Clara's No. 2 doubles team... the Cox-Nelson team finished 16-10, finishing one victory shy of tying a school single-season record for most doubles wins.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, Ariz... played under head coach Bill Woods... compiled a four-year singles record of 48-3 and a 48-2 mark in doubles... was 24-1 in singles as a senior...led team to two state championships his junior and senior years as the team went undefeated... was the Southwest Tennis Association's top-ranked junior player in 1997... was the recipient of the scholar-athlete award at Brophy Prep... a member of the National Honor Society.
