This Week Santa Clara men's tennis will close out the fall season at the Rolex Regional, hosted by the University of California in Berkeley. Matches will take place Friday, Oct. 27 through Monday, Oct. 30.
Last Week Santa Clara Hosts SCU Fall Classic Portland, Pacific and Cal Poly visited for three days of singles and doubles matches set in a modified team format. Here's a summary of how each team did at the Oct. 20-22 Classic:

In doubles, the Broncos' tandem of Michael Duong and Lewis fell in the championship match of the National bracket to CS Sacramento's Silvain Iff and Kevin Vieira.
At the Bulldog Classic Santa Clara opened the season last weekend at the Wathen/Hancock Bulldog Classic in Fresno, Calif. The three-day tournament included a singles and doubles draw. Matt Cox, Michael Duong, Adam Artunian and Adam Lewis all advanced to the second round of the singles tournament with Cox advancing to the Round of 16, before falling to the tournament's fourth seed, Andrej Biznak of Washington, 6-2, 6-3. Although Federico Mattioli fell in the first round of the singles draw, he advanced to the consolation semifinals before falling to California's Niro Nakamura 8-1. In doubles, four of Santa Clara's five tandems advanced to the quarterfinals, with Ryan Livesay and Mike Bruggemann and Duong and Lewis advancing to the semifinals. Livesay and Bruggemann fell to the CS Sacramento duo of Joseph Gilbert and Sherif Zaher 8-5 while Duong and Lewis went extra sets before falling to California's Nakamura and Wayne Wong 9-7.
In the Rankings Santa Clara finished the season ranked 65th, according to the WingspanBank.com/ITA rankings. No singles players or doubles tandems are ranked entering the season.
Head Coach Sean Burns Sean Burns (Holy Cross '88) enters his eighth season at the helm of the Santa Clara men's tennis program. With a 97-75 overall record, he is the second-winningest coach in school history. After taking over in 1994, Burns has transformed the program into one of the up-and-coming powers on the West Coast. A three-time West Coast Conference Coach of the Year, Burns guided the Broncos to a second-place finish in the WCC in 2000 and has also led the team to back-to-back third-place finishes at the WCC Championships in 1997 and '98.
