Broncos Have Seven Honored For Academics by WCC, CRCAMay 28, 2013After finishing the year on the water, Santa Clara women's rowing is pulling in accolades, this time in the classroom. On May 28, members of the crew were named to both the National Scholar Athletes list by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association and to the All-West Coast Conference Academic team.

Bronco Student-Athletes Post 3.0+ GPA For The 18th Time In 19 QuartersApril 18, 2013Led by 16 Bronco student-athletes who posted a 4.0 grade point average and four teams who achieved a 3.4 or higher, Santa Clara University's student-athletes recorded a 3.037 grade point average (GPA) for the Winter 2013 quarter, topping 3.0 or better for the 18th time in 19 quarters. Santa Clara's cumulative GPA for its student-athletes is 3.089.

Women's Rowing Competes in Covered Bridge Regatta; Prepares for Redwood ShoresApril 15, 2013The Bronco women's rowing team traveled to Eugene, Oregon last weekend to take part in the Covered Bridge Regatta. Santa Clara traveled both the varsity and junior varsity teams. Santa Clara is taking the experience from these races and using it as they move forward as they race on April 20 against Saint Mary's and UCSD and against Mills on April 21.

Lohe's College Experience on the West CoastApril 14, 2013By Sara Vierra 15' Adrienne Lohe (AL) became a varsity women's crew member during the 2011-2012 season, and rowed as a novice for the Broncos her freshman year. With her athletic background in track and cross country, crew was a new sport to Lohe when she became a Bronco. Lohe has had a successful academic and athletic career at Santa Clara University (SCU), but looks forward to returning to the east coast after graduation. Women's Rowing and Cross Country to "Jog for Jill" October 13September 20, 2012Santa Clara women's rowing has a long history or giving back and helping the community. Continuing that tradition, the team will take part in "Jog for Jill" on Sat., Oct. 13 at 8 a.m. in Baylands Park, Sunnyvale, Calif. to raise money and awareness for lung cancer. The 5k walk/run will be co-hosted by Santa Clara cross country and will be held before the Santa Clara Bronco Invite.

Santa Clara Alum Headed to Olympics as Rowing CoachJune 27, 2012After being cut from the Santa Clara basketball team by legendary coach Carroll Williams, Matt Madigan '91 didn't want to end his collegiate athletic career so he took up rowing. More than 20 years later Madigan will be headed the Olympics for the second time as a coach. He is the coach of the U.S. women's double sculls consisting of Sarah Trowbridge and Margot Shumway.
