Women's Rowing Completes WIRAs

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing finished WIRAs on Sunday.

"The team had a great weekend of racing starting with the Varsity 8 beating St. Mary's College in the heat on Saturday. On Sunday for the final, the V8 had a really good effort down the course. Although we finished sixth, the V8 continues gain experience and is getting in the mix with boats we used to be well behind. Our Novice 8 had an outstanding effort down the course to take second which says a lot about the young talent on this team. It was a hard fought race down the course and they were able to hold off a hard charging Orange Coast College for the silver medal. The Novice 4 also got some great racing experience in very challenging conditions. We are really proud of the team effort and are looking forward to continuing our training in preparation for the WCC Championship in two weeks."
