SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara beach volleyball will look to finish 2016 with a perfect home record when it hosts Pacific Tuesday at 2 p.m. for a matchup at Los Gatos High School. The Broncos enter the contest with six straight victories, and have won 13 of 15 duals at home this spring.

The Broncos (7-1, 2-1 WCC) are 0-3 all-time against the Tigers (3-6, 0-4 WCC), who defeated Santa Clara 3-2 in 2013 and 4-1 in each of the last two seasons. 

"Pacific has traditionally been a very steady team," Bronco head coach Aaron Mansfield said. "They are well coached and we expect a good battle."

Santa Clara's newest pairing of Sarah Vaccaro and Hailey Lindberg (No. 3) is 3-0, and Vaccaro's teams are a Santa Clara-best 7-1 overall. The Broncos boast 6-2 records at the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 positions. The team's second pairing of Danielle Rottman and Nikki Hess has won 15 sets and lost only four on the year.

Santa Clara defeated San José State 4-1 last Thursday and Oregon 4-1 on Friday. The Broncos are scheduled to play at least four matches in the next five days to close out the regular season. 

"It was great for our team to get two days of rest after the two duals last week," Mansfield said. "Our team came back into the sand ready to get back to work and prepare for our upcoming match against the Tigers."

The Tigers have lost four straight matches; their last win was on March 10 over Sacramento State. Pacific's No. 1 team of Lexi Elman and Andie Shelton is 4-4 on the season. Alex Hollt and Jessica Diederich are 6-1 at the No. 5 position and 7-1 overall.
