PRINCETON, N.J. — Santa Clara men's rowing set a new record mark by earning six spots on the 2016 Intercollegiate Rowing Association All-Academic team. Thatcher Bouck, Ian Crutchlow, Drew Del Toro, Patrick Doyle, Peter Morton and Chris Szigeti were honored by the IRA for their work in the classroom. Five of the six Broncos rowed in the Varsity 8+ boat at the IRA National Championship Regatta; Del Toro coxed the Varsity 4+ crew.
Morton also earned All-WIRA honors after the Broncos won the WIRA Championship in May. Doyle and Crutchlow have been named to the IRA All-Academic Team for the second straight year. Bouck, Crutchlow and Doyle are all double-majors.
IRA All-Academic Requirements
To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution, be an institutional letterwinner and competed at the 2016 IRA National Championship Regatta. In all, 336 student-athletes from 37 member institutions were recognized.
