SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Clara softball dropped two games on day two of the UC Santa Barbara South Coast Invitational on Saturday, falling to New Mexico 3-0 and to Wagner 5-0.  

GAME 1: New Mexico 3 - Santa Clara 0

Emma Bramson went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs for New Mexico who defeated Santa Clara, 3-0.

Facing Broncos starter Sage Hager who had won five-straight coming into the game, Bramson doubled in the first run of the game in the opening frame.

Bramson then homered in the bottom of the third to give New Mexico (15-3) a 2-0 advantage.

Lobos starter Emma Guindon threw a three-hit shutout to improve to 7-1 on the year while Hager dropped to 5-1.

Allyson Ferreira, Sammy Needham and Bailey McLaughlin each had a single for Santa Clara (10-11)

GAME 2: Wagner 5 - Santa Clara 0  

Keaghan Ward drove in three runs and Scarlett Lloyd allowed just four hits to help Wagner beat Santa Clara, 5-0.

In the top of the fourth and leading 2-0, Ward hit a bases clearing double to right field off Santa Clara (10-12) starter Regan Dias to break the game open, 5-0.

Meanwhile, Lloyd pitched out of jams in the second and third innings when the Broncos had two runners in scoring positions in each inning.

In the second, Emma Bickford led off with a triple and Morgan Salmon drew a walk before stealing second.  However, Lloyd retired the next two Broncos to escape the inning.

The next inning, Allyson Ferreira and Ashley Trierweiler singled and a double steal put them in scoring position but were left stranded.

Lloyed (1-4) picked up her first win of the season while Dias (2-3) took the loss.
