Sangiacomo had a match-high 18 kills and 14 digs, Shaffer 13 kills and 14 digs, and Nani Spaar had a season-best eight kills for the Broncos in the West Coast Conference matchup.

Shyia Richardson posted 16 kills and 13 digs, and Letizia Aquilino had 14 kills for the Dons (0-21, 0-13).

The Broncos (9-14, 5-8) looked to be on their way to a sweep, but the Dons rallied in the third set behind Aquilino (6) and Richardson (5) who combined for 11 of the team's 16 kills.

San Francisco led 21-16, but the Broncos scored the next two. However, the Dons tallied three of the next four points and finished off the set on a kill from Taylor Schein.

She delivered four of her six kills in the final set and produced all three of her service aces in a set the Broncos never trailed.

They broke the set open with a 10-1 run that pushed the advantage to 20-9.

The Dons were within striking distance in the first set. They never trailed by more than three points
and pulled within 20-19 on a kill from Aquilino.

But Spaar provided the spark with back-to-back kills and Shaffer delivered the final blow with a set-ending kill.

The second set was tied eight times with two lead changes.

Santa Clara took control with 8-1 flurry than turned a one-point deficit into a 16-10 lead and the Dons were never closer than five the rest of the way.
