Bronco Water Polo Tops Seawolves, Now 6-3 in WWPA

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Santa Clara University women's water polo team picked up a conference victory on the road Thursday afternoon, beating Sonoma State 12-8. Marina Allen scored four goals to lead the Broncos, who improve to 6-3 in Western Water Polo Association play.

Trailing 4-2 after the opening period, the Broncos rallied for five goals in the second to take a 7-6 lead at halftime. Senior captain Taylor Harkins had three goals on the afternoon and freshman Claire Eadington had two.

Santa Clara (9-12; 6-3 WWPA) is among the WWPA leaders, and its game with Sonoma State (6-23; 1-8 WWPA) was the first of five-straight conference games, a pivotal stretch that will influence the team's seeding in the WWPA Championship tournament at the end of April.

Next up is trip to Los Angeles the weekend of April 2-3 to play No. 6 LMU and Cal State San Bernardino.
