Track & Field Takes ‘Successful Trip’ to open Season at UW Invitational

SEATTLE — Santa Clara track & field began its indoor season Friday at the UW Invitational. Xander Olivero led the men's trio with a 5,000-meter 14:40.8 (26th place), Emma McCurry led the women's tandem with a 5,000-meter 17:39.74 (42nd place) and the men's distance medley relay quartet posted a 10:04.27 for sixth place at Dempsey Indoor.

FROM THE COACHES

Head coach Felipe Montoro: "We had another successful trip to the Northwest. Harvey had a solid 5k debut and Xander ran a great race. Our DMR guys ran a great race as well. Christian produced a stellar leg and it was awesome to see Alex compete for the first time as a Bronco; he did really well."
