REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – In its final race before beginning its run for IRAs, Santa Clara men's rowing competed at the Stanford Invite Saturday and Sunday.
The Broncos V8 finished behind Cal twice and the 3V8 finished behind Oregon State on Saturday.
On Sunday, the V8 and 2V8 boats finished behind Hobart in separate races at the 3V8 finished third in a race against Stanford and Hobart.
"The Stanford Invite is the mid-point of our season and sets us up for the two championship regattas (WIRA and Western Sprints)," Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell said. "We had a challenging weekend of racing facing off with Cal, Oregon State, Stanford, and Hobart. We did our best under some difficult circumstances and there were a number of guys that got opportunities to race in different boats than our normal line-ups. A tribute to those guys for stepping into those seats."
The Broncos are back on the water April 28-29 at WIRAs on Lake Natoma in Sacramento.
