SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's rowing heads to Western Sprints on Lake Natoma in Sacramento Saturday as the Broncos try to qualify for the IRA National Championships for the fourth year in a row.
"This is the regatta that we work towards all year to qualify for the IRA National Championship Regatta and we expect a very competitive Western Sprints," Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell said.
Last time out, Santa Clara took home titles with the V8 and V4 boats at WIRAs. Four Broncos were also named All-WIRA with Farwell bringing home coach of the year honors.
The Broncos will be racing four boats: V8, 2V8, 3V8, and V4. The top two finishers in each race qualify for IRAs.
