SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara University men's soccer team capped off the 2010 season by winning the program's 11th West Coast Conference Championship. The team went unbeaten in 12 straight matches from Sept. 19 through Nov. 5 and claimed the league title on the final day of the season.
Nine SCU players earned all-league honors and ninth-year head coach Cameron Rast was named the WCC Coach of the Year. It was the fourth time Rast has earned the honor and the fourth time he has guided the Broncos to a WCC title.
The team finished 10-6-5 overall and 7-1-4 against the WCC. Following a 2-4 start, the Broncos went 8-2-5 to close out the season, which includes their appearance in the NCAA College Cup tournament's first round against Sacramento State University in Sacramento.
