SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The sixth annual UC Santa Barbara/Easton Invitational was cancelled Saturday afternoon after heavy rains drenched the playing fields. On Friday the teams involved finished a full day of games but with a new weather system that rolled in, the tournament had to be cancelled.
The Broncos remain on the road and will play at Arizona State this weekend in Tempe, Ariz. On Friday, Santa Clara will play the Devils at 7 p.m. The Broncos play a doubleheader on Saturday, with a 3 p.m. exhibition game vs. Team Beijing, followed by another 7 p.m. contest against ASU. The Broncos will cap their first out-of-state-weekend in more than three years with a third and final game against the Sun Devils at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
"It's going to be great to head to Arizona," Crouch said. "One of our juniors (Maren Hawkins) is from Tempe, so she's really excited. I am too, as we are giving our three seniors their first trip out of state."
